The intelligence agencies correctly stated that they could not verify WMDs in Iraq. Dick Cheney decided that they must be there and convinced Powell to declare to the UN that that was the reason for the war. Don’t blame the intelligence agencies; blame the politicians who refused to listen to them.

We actually know they exist because Iran was allowing the IAEA to do inspections. Roughly 2/3rds of all IAEA inspections were on Iran. It’s why the US intelligence community were so confident they didn’t have nukes a month ago.

No nuclear isotopes after the attack pretty much says We Lost, Iran moved the uranium. To sum up, if they didn't have it, we fucked up and wasted an attack If they Did have it, we fucked up and missed.
