Let’s game this out. Let’s say he sends the military to poll stations to intimidate people? How about seizing ballot boxes? What if he asks legislators not to certify the election or his vice president not to accept the winner. I think we are in for the fight of our lives to save democracy.

I grew up in military dictatorship in Africa. The difference in a democratic system is the assumption that you can always vote them out while with the military the only way to change the government is through a coup. That leads to hopelessness among the people that oppose the government.
Authoritarians are usually not popular. They usually don’t do things to help people. They try to stay in power by the use of force. As for the security services, the nature of their job is to follow orders.
The Democratic Party is ill equipped for this moment. They only serve as an option when we go to the polls while we still have a democratic process. We are on our own.

From what I understand if every state goes nuclear, the Republicans were always going to win this fight by about 10 seats. So the solution was never gerrymandering to infinity, it is trying to win back certain voters.
They would do so anyway. The reality is the American political system gives an unfair advantage to smaller states. The bigger issue is finding a way to win back these voters that keep voting republican against their own interests.
These think tanks and strategists are the ones ruining the party. Democrats wait for things to be poll tested before deciding how they feel about an issue. Authenticity is the most important thing in today’s political climate.
