Tbh what got this platform interesting for me was doing the engagement myself. Reposting someone to shitpost, replying to stuff in .#compsplatoon, asking questions. I've also hit an inflection point and follow enough content that opening the app is worthwhile?

Definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone, but I was also hellbent on getting ppl to migrate here. And my tiny contribution of being active here was one more comp player and splatoon team people could follow.

I agree. I do want my slop algorithm without the bigotry too Im ngl, but using Bluesky has forced me to be more intentional with social media and actually have to hunt for people who post about specific topics and engage with them. If youre not engaging and only consuming this place gets boring fast
As someone that disliked twitter enough to never use it, I've found its been super easy to attract an audience - I went from 0 followers to 200 or so mostly just by using the comp feed and engaging with posts I see
Like I will never understand what ppl like about twit it just feels terrible to use and scroll not even getting into content, and I lowk can't articulate what about bsky is different enough to where I don't see it the same way
Imho for social interaction I use discord/telegram, and for professional use cases/reaching a general audience, thats why I use bsky/furaffinity/etc - screaming into the void the way twit/bsky incentices is only appealing if thats what I want to do(which I rarely do)
(Fwiw when I say discord I specifically mean "small under 100 user private servers" - large public servers can feel just as insufferable as twitter in the exact same way if not handled perfectly and feel just as samey so I tend to avoid that)
