It does everything pretty well, doesn't fumble any of its storylines too badly, doesn't do anything especially ambitious with them either. It is a little better than average at everything and nothing more. It sure is a solid episode of The Simpsons, that's for sure 👍

I always thought this and no one talked about this one. I feel similarly about postcards from the wedge, how the test was won, 500 keys and how i wet your mother. To me theyre all middle simpsons — or even some near golden age — quality (which is very good). Plus, can't go wrong with a school plot

Wait i just saw you confused them which is funny cause i always used to. I think the test before trying is good too though i always just love any school plot. The kid is all right is also all right. How the test was won is very solid though better than test before trying imo. Excited for s20 retro

Wait a minute, I am actually talking about How the Test Was Won. Dang it, I always always confuse those two names. Ugh

Yeah, it's like the poster child for a 7/10 post classic Simpsons

In recent years when I watched a movie that pretty much went like this. I think it was one of the many movies based on Cinderella or Cinderella adjacent. It was mildly pleasant but highly predictable. I just kept thinking "If I had never seen a movie before this would be amazing."

Satisfied, you put away the popcorn bucket, saying, "damn, what a competent film"

Basically, "Ah yes, that held my attention for two hours and didn't make any substantial mistakes that significantly detracted from my experience. Any negatives I could mention would have to do with comparing it to other movies and therefore be based on bias from my personal movie history."

It actually made me reevaluate how I view movies. I suddenly because acutely aware of how much previous movies I watched impact my experience with newer movies.
