I've had people tell me to my face that AI helps avoid biases and I haven't laughed harder in a long time. Data doesn't grow on trees. We decide who matters and what to quantify about them. The very process bakes in bias.

It’s sound like you have not accepted AI into your heart.

The data it's trained on is already biased (or worse), the way it is interpreted can be biased on purpose or unintentionally. A lazy trust in its output without looking into it critically could make bias worse still. But this is all going to be forced on us whether we want it or not.

The entire thing is predicated on essentially having a snapshot in time of human expertise & building a machine that parrots it, but doesn’t actually replace it It’ll break down rapidly in the absence of new human knowledge output to model

Also, all data needs to be interpreted. It doesn't just speak for itself, you have to know how to understand it.
