Why does China want Siberia? Russia is already building out tons of infrastructure for sending resources to China at a deep discount. The only advantage of owning that land directly is to have a bigger name on the map.

I mean I was mostly joking, but Russia really can't keep sending cheap oil and gas out forever, and it's not hard to see China saying "wait a minute why are we paying you at all". Especially with how Russian military has been shown to not be the powerhouse they claim to be.

And even outside the resources, it's 3 men who are classically narcissistic and believe themselves ordained to greatness. Those alliances tend not to work out long-term.
