Some councils are taking action but not enough.... complicated by the fact that, as the article points out, residents have gotten used to relying on AirBnB income. But personally I think we need to change the way we book accommodation. Just don't book something if it could be a home.

Time for whatever hotelier association exists to get together and advertise the advantages, like the fact you don’t have to clean your hotel room before you leave. Service is good! When we were in Hobart at the start of the month there were multiple hotel branded courtesy umbrellas on the street.

We refilled our water bottles from the bar, 24hour front desk can send you up anything you need, LOBBY TOILETS so split the necessities of bathroom sharing, any problems get fixed immediately, towel rotation - honestly you could do an ad for every one of those points and still have another 20.
