And I met this older guy who makes amateur radio transmissions via morse code and can read and send it really fast πŸ™‚ (but he says there are young people who can do it much faster still, there are some meetups and competitions and they specifically train for this πŸ˜…)

Yeah, I was surprised too - apparently kinda as a challenge πŸ˜„ you know, like people learn to recognize Google Maps places or solve Rubik cube

yeah I guess I can see that, although tbh I'm maybe just as surprised that younger people have even heard of Morse code in the first place! for young people who are digital natives, it must seem very foreign
