That's the Bismarck. The Good Guys sunk it.
That's the Bismarck. The Good Guys sunk it.
I just took a quick look, on a hunch. It's artwork from the lid of the Revell 05098 1/700 Bismarck model kit.
After it blew up the HMS Hood, killing 1415 Allied sailors in one of the most horrific explosions ever in warfare. Is he celebrating all those dead Brits?
Remember that the crew eventually scuttled it when it stopped functioning, though.
Or Tirpitz. Same ending though.
While the Bismarck accomplished very little, the Tirpitz didn't do shit. 95% chance it's supposed to be the Bismarck.
What else has a "T" and "P" in it? Hmm.
The #TrumpsteinFiles!
Gee, Trump, Tar pits, Toilet paper....coincidence?
Turnip?
Sorta, but not as smart or useful.
Actually, Tirpitz was quite successful as a fleet in being. The British spent incredible time and effort on it. It's pure existence tied up the home fleet.
The thing about a fleet in being it is doesn't actually have to do anything but be there.
And look scary. My point. ;)
But not actually do anything. HMS Iron Duke was nearly as effective. And it was just a hulk sitting a Scapa Flow.
As I said, the brits expanded an aweful amount of resources on their efforts to sink her.
The Brits expended an awful lot of resources flattening German cities. That doesn't mean it was a smart or productive move. The fact they didn't stop trying until November 1944 just shows it was more about ego than actually winning the war.
Because they did the same to us.
We did way worse stuff along the way. And unfortunately, flattering germany still didn't get those ideas out of people's minds. We might need the RAF to help again real soon. (26% and rising)
