Shonky plotting, feels there’s significant material been edited out. The second half was faster than the first, but by two hours I was looking at the time. Score early-on transposes a melody from "True Romance", later on "Days Of Thunder". Pedestrian inbetween, weirdly unexciting final lap climax.

It was basically a romance, but got both men and women into the theatre. I enjoyed it, and so did husband, for different reasons, but husband (who loves racing) did find some of the Telledaga Nights plotting a bit off-putting. He expected to see Ricky Bobby appear.

Pitt goes to leave after his big crash, yet somehow forgets to tell Condan he's leaving until Menzies stops him and turns him around? Kind of a big "eh" from me on the romance-plotting there. (Condan was good throughout though, but that entire plot strand was underwritten - as were many more.)

But he had to leave the girl behind because he's a lone wolf who only wants to feel the bliss of driving into the sky, like Nevil Shute's character in the On the Beach novel. (Auto racing husband said they got the bit about the feeling right, fwiw.)

Yeah, but I've had that in my Mustang. Or playing a videogame. Or great sex, even.

skiing for me. (I'm not a good skiier. I figure 3 seconds of bliss twice in 20 years) Anyway - not a memorable movie, but I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

#20 in my movies of 2025 so far, which means a few more and it'll drop out of my year end Top Ranking. I'd love to ski, but I've broken so many bones now, it would be stupid even attempting it.

What is your ranking list? I don't see many movies in theatre because I live in a tiny town with no theatre, but I did enjoy Anora. Skiing is weird. Here strap on these boards and go hurtling down a mountainside. Take your kids! Spend time in the ER! If it wasn't a sport it would be abuse.

Oh, I never give my list out until year's end! But Fantastic Four/Mickey 17 are my joint #1 so far this year.
