I suppose there are probably some people who don’t like this. As a committed number 0 hater I think he’s off to a flawless start. 1 is clean as hell and well deserved for a blockbuster player that so rarely gets acquired in that fashion at 1265.

I think it would’ve been more perfect if Reed gave Parsons 11 and Reed switched to 1, which was his number at MSU. But I also see the only way the Packers take Lambeau’s 1 out of unofficial retirement is for a player like Parsons.

My POV on this is that Lambeau already has an entire stadium named after him and a statue outside of said stadium. That should be enough. Also, if the number was so sacred, why haven’t the Packers officially retired it? Same for Hornung’s 5.

Oh I don’t have a problem with a player wearing 1. But it should be more of a franchise player after reserving it from use for so long. My nice way of saying he’s not in the tier that should be allowed to wear it.

They have had 100 years to retire it if they wanted to My opinion is that number retirements should last a generation, like a 30 year expiration date or something My view is “ok, you know the weight that number carries, I’m glad you’re that confident & want to become a legend. Better get it done”
