The reason Mamdani has voters so thrilled is that he genuinely likes New York City. Are there problems here? Sure! But I also genuinely like NYC, so it feels nice. Meanwhile, every other politician comes off like they're one step away from threatening to blow up Gotham unless The Batman surrenders.
We always know when we are being used. Like Trump who gets richer and richer in the presidency and Vance, who does not do much to hide his disdain for us.

Oh man, that's a good question. First thought is that Adams is any number of corrupt Mayors from the comics, who always say they're tough on crime but are in the Penguin's pocket, or cave at a moment's notice. Cuomo I want to say Two-Face but more likely a random member of the Court of Owls.
