Everything I've seen today that's not about Mach Breakers has been about Silksong, a game I'd never heard of until a couple of days ago. I never knew it was a sequel & having seen it's full name, I thought it was Shovel Knight related I am that far out of the loop but I hope people are enjoying it🫡
No, I will not play it, or the prequel or Shovel Knight. I could not tell you who made any of them. I don't even know what genre the Hollow games are. I will guess 2D platformers? You can't / shouldn't try to do it all & most things in life will simply just pass by your periphery. This is fine👍

I wish I could be like that. I'm too easily influenced and I sometimes buy a game just because I see someone say it's good. Well, the good part is I often get good surprises and play great games like that, between all the "why did I buy that"
Again, there's never anything wrong with trying new things if you think you'll like it & have time for it. Some things you will absolutely want on day 1 no matter what It's just about knowing what you like & accepting that there's always other choices but that doing your own thing is always best
Sure, but my brain is fine accepting that I won't listen to every music or read every book, but it cannot stand that I won't play every game? Like, I want to get good at some shmups but I also want to try 100 others. I have RPGs in my backlog that I'll probably never play despite wanting to.
if you enjoy what you're playing or doing then you're doing it right. And with a backlog, you'll never be bored. You've already won. An entire life of so much cool shit you might not even get to what you already know... but you might. Only one way to find out

Though I will say that trying out things is healthy, just don't have FOMO about everything. Me getting into a shmups phase from 2022 to mid-2023 opened my mind to the beauty of arcade design. Which is a very good thing compared to just dismissing them as QuArTeR mUnCheRs like most gamers do.
