Can ppl please stop confusing the people of states with their shit govt. If you are American, your president is Trump. What would that say about you? The people there re-coloring it weren’t flown in from another state. The people murdered there weren’t all visitors. Good people live in “red” states.

First of all, if I wasn’t from America I wouldn’t visit here right now. The reason I won’t visit Florida is I do not want to economically support a state with such regressive government policies. Lastly, I was satirizing Trump’s calling other nations “shithole countries.”

I have no doubt that there are lots of lovely people in Florida. I know some of them. But I have no wish to pay the exorbitant lodging taxes on visitors to support the state government when it is doing things like supporting concentration camps and desecrating memorials to the dead.

No doubt but…people in red states are hurting us in blue states and I have patiently waited for any movement toward moderating the crazy. It gets worse every f’ing year. Hell, I’ve donated to blue candidates in red states. No more. You gotta clean up your act and then we can talk.

Nobody is confusing the people with the government. The government was elected by a majority. And any money you might spend there is partially tax, which goes to the government, which uses it for these abhorrent things. So avoiding FL means avoiding people that voted for this, and not funding it.

Are there lovely people in Florida? Undoubtedly. Are they the majority? No. Will staying away arguably help them by starving the beast that wants to destroy them? It’s at least not obvious that it won’t.
