I've noticed the same thing happens if you post a picture of a prairie dog. Like, yeah, I know they carry the plague. It's out in a field looking cute. I didn't say it was my new room mate or I was gonna cuddle the thing. There's a reason the picture is zoomed in from far away.

i grew up with bats. i grew up in the middle of the woods with coyotes, bobcats, mountain lions, and more. i know more about how to interact with wildlife than your average person, guaranteed. stop it lmao

it's not the warning itself that bugs me, it's true that you should not touch bats and you don't want rabies!! it's that even though you have literally zero evidence that i am a little baby who doesn't know how to act you have just ASSUMED that i need to be scolded (patronizingly) haha. annoying
