I don't want to say you're wrong completely, but I do want to say that some bans like grade school book bans. are in my opinion ethical because children are impressionable and are taught how to perceive life, they can be pretty messed up if put in stressful situations at a young age.
homes are most stressful, what comes out of their parents mouths is most stressful. how they're verbally and physically abused is most stressful.
Yes I know, my house. But like how movies are R rated. I understand not having books that are rated above an age range in elementary schools. Pooping? I have never heard of this book so I cannot give you an opinion on it. I'm sorry. I remember in elementary school poop was a "sware" lol.
I taught kindergarten and the book exists. very funny and cute. holding your poop and carrying it in your diaper is not letting go. this smart book helped children learn it's natural to poop in a toilet as all animals poop. nothing harmful about it. how you were raised.

Teachers and children’s librarians are already trained on selecting appropriate materials for children of different backgrounds. It is the responsibility of parents to vet what their kids read and provide a safe environment. They can do this by working with teachers and librarians. It’s not hard.
Like I completely understand not wanting to silence authors informing history. That is beautiful and should never be banned from the public. But places where you aren't allowed to say poop because its offensive. Shouldn't have graphic novels...
a book for a toddler to show the ways animals poop and little 2 year olds is not offensive, it's smart.
Knowledge needs to be free. Banning any book, for any reason, is an affront to the inalienable right to obtain knowledge. Teach your kids to be kind, loving, fair, empathetic, and no book will turn them into the monsters that you're afraid of.

In being forced. (you don't need to know why) to watch game of thrones at the age of 7, I still vividly remember everything. not because I enjoyed it. I understand not every child is me, but the more I grow up the more I realize how playdoe I was as a minor, everything effected me.
sex, any sort of nsfw, from gay, straight, queer relationships that don't fall under those categories. any sort of detail in material meant for adults. I just believe that kids (minors) shouldn't be shown any sexual materials. I was introduced to content I was not supposed to be when I was younger.
No, I'm sorry but this is a horrible idea. Not showing minors (grade school or older) anything sexual means that early sex ed is impossible, which helps pedophiles and abusers. I'm sorry about your traumatic experiences but this solves nothing and does the opposite.

The problem is always this: who gets to decide what's offensive? I read Breakfast of Champions as a freshman and I turned out fine. Plenty of the wrong sorts of people want that banned from schools.
you're saying you turned out fine. great, I personally have a few experiences where I was introduced to NSFW content as a minor, and I did not turn out fine. and I just wanted to share my side, I developed a personality disorder, was it from the content? I cannot confirm, however It effects me.
