Would only add to that a general policy of equitable distribution of public amenities would improve overall quality of life while limiting the need to move "up" to attain these goods, meaning less upward pressure on prices.
Except that there isn’t enough housing in cities that have jobs, so the demand is going to raise prices across the board without more supply.
I meant my comment as an addendum to the "increase supply" option.
