I checked the Canadian Press photo archives. There is, in fact, these photos shot by a photographer called Ethan Cairns. Based on what I can tell without the metadata it does appear authentic - the AI detection was possibly triggered by aspect editing. www.cpimages.com/asset-manage...

Thanks for looking into this some more. AI often gets things wrong. I try not to use it much. The cons are gonna have a hayday with that pic!

Oh well it’s not that I can’t see Carney hugging someone regardless of what they’re wearing or that someone would wear that at a Pride event- it’s just the fuel it gives the gross trolls.
