The discrepancy in salary between C-suite people and regular workers has grown exponentially over the last several decades. This is a huge part of the problem. Why do only some people deserve massive bonuses and pay increases while others remain stagnant?
It's a fraction of what it was during the Victorian era. Compared the the Middle East, the US is absolutely a model of equality. But none of that was my point, I was reacting to the "The End is Nigh" bit.
Just because something has already happened & was really bad doesn't mean we should repeat that. Eg. Holocaust, illness & disease (that is now preventable/treatable), slavery, etc. Let's aim for the betterment of the human race! Hopefully our prehistoric brains won't prevent that from happening.
So the end isn't nigh? If we are still at a point were some reasonable action could stave off a collapse, than the original point is meaningless.
