I’m not saying NABU is perfect. They clearly have things to work on, objectively. But all the searches were very forced, conducted without court warrants. Every single NABU search was classified as “urgent” and carried out on the same day –

in cases ranging from traffic accidents in 2021 and 2023 to totally unrelated investigations, involving different agencies.

Some detectives were physically assaulted and weren’t allowed to document their injuries for an entire day – medical institutions refused to examine them. What shocked me the most: one detective had his eyes forced open so they could unlock his phone via Face ID.

Another example: NABU detective Anton Oliinyk was suspended over a traffic accident caused by negligence – something completely unrelated to his work. The accident happened in 2023 – what influence could he possibly have on the case in 2025?

And then there’s the SBU wiretap video on detective Magamedrasulov: the subtitles say the technical cannabis came from Dagestan, but the recording itself mentions Uzbekistan.

And finally, this draft law – pushed through and adopted in one day. Why the rush? Because NABU got too close to some people who are close to the Office. All of this feels like nothing but a convenient excuse.

This is what I fear those who are against Zelenskyy’s actions are failing to acknowledge. The agencies have been infiltrated by the FSB. Zelenskyy knew this and took control from them to prevent Russia from having a say in anti-corruption. Too many Ukrainians do not understand the rationale.

This type of rationale is faulty, at best. If an issue like that is identified, clean out the organization, or create a new one, with trusted personnel. Do not pull the functions into and under the political control that the org was supposed to monitor in the first place.

Faulty? You have evidence Zelenskyy is acting against Ukraine’s interests? His measures are essential to neutralize the FSB agents. Change to the agencies will come down the road. For now, he had to render them ineffective. It saddens me Ukrainians would turn on the only man trying to save Ukraine.
