Refs killed a drive for us and gifted them 40 yards and a 1st at the 2 which min 5 points of expectation and prob more like 8? Think this is a team we want to beat by 40 to be a top 4 team? Playing more like the 15th even adjusted for fuckery?

Hard to extrapolate based on the first game, the college crappe opponent, the true freshman 18 year old first start, and the ref show. But I’m mostly impressed
Realistic upside for the season is that they grow from 15th best to ~10th, right?
10-2 with a playoff birth seems much more plausible than it did last sunday
Higher than that by a bit maybe but top 4 is prob asking way too much.
Would need the OL to get back to, like, a B+ version of their 21-23 form to do that, I'd think. Lean on them to move guys and take pressure off Bryce.
Suspect this game will look better at net epa/play than it does on the scoreboard
Yeah, their scoring drives were 1) multiple trick play drive, 2) the ref drive, and 3) 2 yard FG drive. Also think the second half D rotation was… generous.
Yeah that’s true too. Maybe there’s more there than I’m crediting.
Defense has made plenty of mistakes. Their 3rd down conversions aren’t great, but it should be even worse if the defense didn’t gift them a couple.
Plenty of mistakes was last year.
