This has come up before in our exchanges...but Heston isn't well. He has quite severe bipolar disorder, saw a Youtube interview with him recently where he's a shadow of his former self. Very sad.

My boss at the BBC had bipolar disorder. That made for some interesting times.
We imagine that is a brief and elegant way of saying it was an utter nightmare 🥶
Well, it was the comedy department, and some of his escapades were kind of fitting, really. 🤷♀️ (I've always said it's lucky it wasn't the tragedy department).
lol yes - quite a number of poor unfortunates have had the misfortune to be managed by me over the years. My condolences. If it helps any I bet he enjoyed himself immensely during his “escapades” and is grovelling sorry for any bad fallout 🥶
One incident comes to mind...going into his office for a meeting to find it empty, then hearing a snuffling noise under his desk, with him on all fours, fingers waggling under his chin, repeating "I am a mole". Drank alcohol with his lithium. Periodic cruelty. No longer with us. 🫤
I would LOVE to say I have never done anything that embarrassing 🥶
Hmm. Fairly ambiguous statement... Recognise one of these? ┬─┬
The symbolism is lost on us but then we are as mad as a weather balloon 🤷♂️ Also we are sorry for the loss of your mole-boss 😇🙏
It's as close to an emoji desk as I can find. Hey ho. (They're so last century now.) And thank you. 🌷 We weren't friends in the end.
Aye we have bipolar disorder too - luckily manageable in our case. Hypomanic and manic energy can be super-useful in certain contexts and fields but it can be a horror. 🧐 His food is utterly astonishing - if the ten best things I’ve ever eaten, eight were on a HB tasting menu.
Yeah...I'm an HB fan because of how he brought science into cooking for all the right reasons....to get the flavours, textures etc you want.
