The US gets to cruise throught western Europe like it's a county fair. That mobility alone is strategically worth every penny we spend on NATO and EU security. Trump has no idea what he's doing.

The United States *ensured* it carried the lion’s share of the NATO burden in Europe. As a long standing policy, it enabled American influence. To complain about the success of that policy now it’s at odds with Putin’s views is a bit silly, is it not?

Of course, the US carried that responsibility because after WWII, they were not destroyed. It would take decades for Europe to rebuild. The influence enjoyed by the US is because of the power of the reserve currency. If that is lost, the US becomes Argentina.

Yes, NATO needs to stop paying trillions of dollars to the USA and start investing that money in Europe and Canada instead. No more expensive second class high maintenance weapon systems from the USA, when you can buy and manufacture better equipment for less in Europe and Canada.

What a stupid statement. This is just Conservative American propaganda. NATO countries without America are still strong enough to take on and thump Russia. But without NATO, America is not strong enough on its own to take on China. But, China is not a threat to NATO countries, only to America.
