Block parties & slow streets are powerful ways to build community. That’s what happened on Hearst Ave. The community came together & converted Hearst into a slow street — de-prioritizing cars & prioritizing people. They started a block party, it’s a big success & a model for other communities.
Slow streets won’t help as long as humans continue furiously and fervently breeding. I remember life before speed bumps. Slow streets are almost as annoying. As if children play in the streets anymore.
Let’s have block parties everywhere everyday. You can allow container sales to make them all boozy too. Vibranting!
