I too, have a rack to dry the plastic baggies. This is SO relatable!
I too, have a rack to dry the plastic baggies. This is SO relatable!
We use the knife handles in the block, but same.
🤭 I used an empty coffee mug tree
I have tears.
This is wonderful!❤️
my grandparents and parents had a similar rack.
Hey! I hang zip lock bags to dry -- because I'm cheap!
Jeezus... Look at Trump's face. Like a dessicated sunburnt scrotum. Maybe this humourous story was too complex for him and he just didn't understand it?
He is a miserable prick
Donald HATES IT when he's not the SINGULAR focus of attention. Expect a barrage of a steaming pile of crap emanating from him via tweets full of derogatory bullshit about this memorial service. He's a petty bile-filled pathetic creature.
It wasn’t about him so of course he’s miserable.
No one got hurt, so where's the joke?
Are you suggesting that Trump's level of humour is restricted to slapstick and finding enjoyment in the pain of others? Surely not... Not the President Elect of the United States of America! The people of America would NEVER vote in someone with such a sadistic disposition...
Those who posses no humanity will never understand it.
Constipation face 🤣
The comb over looks like it's over.
where's our beautiful Michelle?
Maybe she's got a sensitive nose...
😅😂🤢
They can talk all the crap they want, but they will leave no such legacy, generally beta chimps are not spoken well of.
This is hilarious 🤣
He's so good at this - he gave an equally wonderful eulogy for his grandmother...
🤣🤣🤣 So cute ❤️❤️❤️
Trump only one not laughing. He absolutely has no soul.
yes, I noticed that too.
We all LOL!!
What funny and lovely memories to have 🤗
😆
Everyone in the audience laughs except for half-assed half-staff complainer Trump and his ice-cold paid-to-be wife.
That was a sweet and funny story- Jason talking about his grandfather, the engineer! I assumed Jimmy was pulling his leg 😆
Lol. I wouldn't be so sure Jimmy was pulling his leg. My Dad, who never owned a cell phone, died in 2003 at the age of 93, and I can imagine Dad doing the same thing!
If Jimmy was using an iPhone Siri may have listened in and tried to help, placed the call 😆 She does that 🤣
Seems like a good dude. Hell the whole family seems decent.
Trump scowled during that story.
😂😂😂😂😂
It was a great story 🤣 No comment on the washing out ziplock bags. 🤣
🥰🤗🥰
That's adorable.
I laughed so hard❤️. Ziplock bags remind me of my mom who died 2years ago at 101. That generation was smart. They knew how to recycle because they had to.
Cute and funny😇
Another repeat video. This made me laugh then cry that we lost him. But he will live on in our and his families hearts.
Love that story so real 💙
Closed captioning? Alt text?
I could hear my mama and daddy laughing all the way from the other side 🥲😆
Funny. 💙😂🙏🏼
I loved the story about the cell phone. I spent much of my childhood growing up in Valdosta. Only today did I realize it was only a 125 miles away. I wish I had known, maybe I could have met him along the way. A true hero of mine. My first election and first vote for president: James Earl Carter!
He was my first Presidential vote. But he lost however I’d experienced his WH reign. I remember thinking he doesn’t appear upset as he walked on the helicopter.
At least no one has had the bad test, at least what I've seen, has had the bad taste to show Trump there
I love this - the best remembrances at a funeral are the stories that make us laugh. Those that give us that joy even after their passing are with each of us forever.
So true.
We need Jason Carter in office🇺🇸🙏🏻
I proudly voted for him the last time he ran. 🥰 He’s a good man like his PaPaw.
Thanks for your response🫶🏻
It’s a family characteristic—good people❤️🇺🇸🙏🏻
I did too!
His eulogy was truly a recognition of a life full of joy.
I cannot tell you how much this made me smile. Those are REALLY hard to come by these days, so thank you. I was unable to watch.
Someone looks pissy. 😂
His eulogy was wonderful ❤️
So much love in that room. It’s who we are. Our shared experiences. ….except for one sulky deranged narcissist who’s not even listening. Our new pres….😩
They told so many great stories about him.
If God exists he should send Jimmy's spirit to enlighten the souls of the MAGA group. ASAP. It's an emergency.
My mom washed and re-used Ziploc bags! What a beautiful memory
I'd add I don't think it was just President Carter's depression era roots that had him reusing ziplock bags. He would have already been aware of the environmental damage of single use plastics!!
As Trump sits there, it looks so damn miserable. 😳
His karma is his sad, miserable, lonely life.
A sad, pathetic soul can only spread more sadness. He is demented Donny and karma will one day catch him.
I so love that Carter went home after being POTUS. Like Harry Truman did. He walked out of the White House, got in the car he came to DC in and went back to Missouri.
I agree.
Wonderful memories
I hope we see more of Jason Carter - he is relatable and has inherited his grandfather’s moral compass.
I grew up learning how to dry freshly washed ziploc bags - still do !
I rinse, dry, re-use my ziplock bags too. And I’m not depression era. 🤷♀️
Me too - why not? It’s easy. We don’t need more plastic trash
That was fantastic!
I cried most of the service so loved that Jason made us laugh.
I remember his wonderful eulogy for his grandma Rosalynn too. He should run for office. He clearly has a gift in connecting with people AND his grandparents values. We need more people like that in positions of power.
He did, I voted for him as our governor but the gop won😪
Boo. Well I hope he runs again, doesn’t necessarily have to be for governor.
Conservatives always pick the bad people. No wonder Jason lost in Georgia. He’d definitely win in California.
Georgia is more blue than people give it credit for, there’s a reason it’s considered a bit of a swing state. I bet he could get elected to the House or something in a district that’s purple.
I loved that story.
❤️✨ Sometimes angels walk amongst us. Humble & loving. Former Pres Carter was one of them. Leading by example. RIP Sir 🙏💫
All the oligarchs sitting there looking like they did something that could possibly match Carter's stature. THEY CAN'T EVEN TOUCH HIS COAT TAIL. THOSE SITTING THERE CREATED THIS MESS. THOSE USELESS FUCKING OLIGARCH EX-PRESIDENTS. They filled their pockets. They live in luxury while the country burns
Literally
Love this ❤️
The memories will endure.
Loved his whole eulogy!
So good, humanity and laughing, that's really fun.
I see the asshole sitting there ugly stone face while everyone else can enjoy the funny memory. I should not look!
Narcissists don't understand or appreciate humor.
He's too busy wondering what Ziploc bags are.
💯
I do the bag thing!! Yes, it is training from being raised by poor folk. I love that I carry that with me.
this fellow should run for president -
Love it! Did you happen to notice at one point in the video where they show the presidents in the audience, Trump was the only one who didn’t smile or laugh? it’s really unfortunate that he was there.
That’s because he knows that when he finally kicks the bucket, his wife, children and grandchildren will not have any endearing stories to tell about him and that there will be a huge celebration that he is finally gone.
We lost such a great man.
So cute
And of course, note how when it pans to the crowd of Presidents, Trump is sitting there glowering. It makes you wonder if he does not get the touching humor of the story. He's probably not ever had those kind of moments with a single human being so it's impossible for him to relate.
He probably doesn’t know what Ziplock bags are….
He's not listening. His mind is busy creating his personal reality.
I don’t think he can relate to a simple, cute, goofy family story. I don’t think he has any from his childhood, and I doubt any of his kids do. Every conversation, every relationship is transactional in trump world. Look at him and look at his kids. Kindness was not rewarded but ruthlessness was.
Honestly, I pity him for that. I mean I fucking hate him with the hate of a thousand burning suns. But again, maybe even a single moment of love or compassion from someone in his childhood could have made the difference. Oh for a key to the multiverse.
I pity him and at the same time think he deserves it and more. He’s been like this his whole life and he’s had opportunity to be better. I do believe people can change, it’s possible but unlikely. A person like that needs to be honest with themself and self-reflect, but he’s just incapable.
Fair. There are people that had the absolute worst of the worst upbringings (abuse of all kinds) and turned out to be wonderful, compassionate people. But he took what he got, fully embraced it and turned it into a fucking brand & cult of personality. And sadly people love him for it.
It’s sink or swim unfortunately. I had a terrible childhood, and I did everything I could to not let it ruin my life. It wasn’t easy and I made a lot of mistakes in the process. You can either learn to float above it and learn from the mistakes of others, or you can let it drown you.
Dementia patients cannot cognitively get the humor… I have to explain EVERY joke to my formally sharp, equally sarcastic hubby with dementia
My heart goes out to you and your husband. ❤️ I'm not 100% convinced Trump has dementia though. Some cognitive issues yes. But ultimately, he's just a cruel, wretched individual. Literally makes Ebenezer Scrooge look like a humanitarian.
I started to see parallels in his behaviors with my husbands during the pandemic - both we’re just starting to have issues 4 years later, I do EVERYTHING I shudder to think of the country under the control of a dementia patient…we are screwed
Indeed. Whether it's cruelty, cognitive or full out dementia, having this individual leading our country is terrifying. And I will never, for as long as I live, forgive those that put him in power.
I've never seen this before and it took a moment to click 🤣. OMG. "Y'know, the oranges of it ... how it started!!!" And this fuckwit thinks he's a genius? 😂
He has many phonemic parashasias and is very good at disguising them by blustering through them
news.cornell.edu/media-relati...
Thank you!
Both my in-laws developed dementia and frequently got their words mixed up in the early stages.
Tom he has more than dementia paired with malignant narcissistic disorder. George Conway wrote an excellent article about it. Drs. Harry Segal & John Gartner have a great YouTube show called Shrinking Trump where they discuss Trumps condition in detail.
Fuck. Thank you. I will check it out l.
Love that podcast!
He was a good man and a damn good skipper hand picked by Rickover himself who pulled some of the most daring feats of the Cold War most people will never know about. History will redeem him and look back at Reagan with contempt for maligning Carter’s dedication to freeing our hostages from Iran.
I loved his entire story he told about his pawpaw! 💞
❤️❤️❤️❤️😂
Such sweet, human stories. And the fact that Trump either isn’t listening, can’t pay attention to anything not about him, or can’t evoke the smallest smile? He’s just a pig. Why is he even there?
Because he knew that this was a very important and emotional event for so many people. Therefore, in his twisted mind, it was his job to intrude and darken it. It's what he does with every single solitary thing that the American people value.
📌
God Bless Jimmy and his family. Family meant so much to him. World peace also meant a lot. As well as being bipartisan and getting along with each other, which gets things done! I find solace that tonight, he met his love of his life, Rosalyn, and they are together again❤️
I wish I'd grown up in a family like his....one that knew how to love.
I absolutely agree with you 💯! My parents were alcoholics. I was miserable
And he recognized the climate change was real 40+ years ago. But America is about to swear in a guy who does not, while Los Angeles burns to the ground.
Yes! This is so very scary! All he cares about is being in the news 24 hours a day! He thinks he's so special 🤮
I also wash/dry plastic bags for re-use. (Child of Depression babies)
I do it, too. It’s wasteful to chuck them.
Yes. I reuse ziplocks because of the environment and because of a limited budget.
Me too and I am a young Gen X (1978). My dad (boomer) thinks it's funny that I do this, so he bought me a bag-drying rack. Lots easier than stacking them on the dishrack and hanging from the cabinet doors!
we couldn't afford plastic bags or tin foil. It was wax or newspaper at our house
Exactly. I was a little offended that someone would consider that a result of living through the depression. And in this age of microplastic world dominance, it’s not a bad thing.
The plastics-problem is the reason I do it 🙂. Haven't bought plastic bags in 15 years, and still have too many from re-using the zip-lock type bags food I buy comes in. It's tough to find sellers of bulk who allow one to bring their own containers in my area.
Fifteen years ago someone cleared out my elderly neighbor's apartment, and threw away partial and full boxes of, I believe, every size bag ever made, and I snatched them up. I'll never run out and still, i wash them.
Near impossible since Covid. Plastic bags are now not allowed for consumer purchases in NJ for bagging your purchased items.
Me too! My parents are baby boomers, but Ziplocs are expensive! (It's also better for the environment to reuse them.)
I'm a Boomer & I do this for those 2 reasons 👍
Same except gen X here (‘66)
Love that 🤣🤗
That was a cute story. 😂
Love this and the joy.
The 🍊 🤡 is the only on not smiling
Loved this
I loved President Carte's eulogy today. It reminds Americans of character led leaders.
And the 🍊💩stain Shitler cannot relate to any of this.
My dad was a nuclear engineer he was one of the first engineers designing the Nautilus.
My dad, a nuclear engineer was one of the first 500 hired and sent to Oakridge Tennessee to build the Nautilus. I had all his papers, awards, certificates. He was still going to school when I was 15. He had 3 master degrees. Sadly I had a fire in my home and I lost everything that was my Dads.
Jimmy Carter’s funeral made me think of my Dad. He was only 49 when he died. I can’t imagine what he would have thought of todays politics!
That was a fantastic eulogy with a beautiful message💙🇺🇸
So relatable to human beings, so Trump doesn’t get it, of course.
Nice service RIP President Carter Your work here on earth is done. Give God a whisper and tell him to save US from the felon. I’m sure he’ll consider your request. You left us with the blueprint of how we all should be while here. Thank you.
Nicely said. Thank you. 😊
Sweet post right here. Followed 💙🦋
Not a smile or laugh from that POS!
Such a wonderful story, too!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Shucks. I still wash and reuse Ziploc bags. RIP President Carter.🙏💙
You're not alone.
Me as well!
My dad did that and my mom hated it because she was always trying to eliminate any vestige of her pauper past so that when they became wealthy she didn’t feel the need to be cheap or frivolous.
So do we.
I see your reuse of plastic bags, and I raise you sticking the remaining sliver of soap to the new bar! 😁 We also reused gift wrapping. People who know me think I'd rip open a package, but old lessons stick like, well, a sliver of soap on a new bar.
I would argue that it wasn’t just the Depression that made them save zip loc bags, but a respect for the environment too. 🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽
☺️❤️
He was so impressive. His popa will be so proud
This is classic! Thank you for sharing. I am not watching any news programs any more.
That was funny. Pop just taking a picture.
His eulogy was wonderful.
And humor is so valuable at a funeral!
Amen! 🧢
My father, a WWII vet, attended 2 years of Temple Tech (prelude to the School of Engineering), and had a side part time television repair business, could not figure out a cell phone. No tubes! No wires! He died before digital TV'S came to be and would have been completely flummoxed by how they work!
So sweet!
🤣🥰💔
Wasn't he wonderful?
☺️☺️❤️❤️😌😌
I loved how he had when he talked about it. It was so moving
I love this. Jason has a genuine gift of for telling a story.
Awesome!
to Jimmy Carter's grandson: I would suggest we all wash our plastic bags for reuse.
Perfect.
🥲
Everyone was charmed by that story except Shitler and his souless bride!
Very relatable as I'm setting up a new cell phone.
Had to get a new phone myself last month. Took me over 2 days to get it set up and took a week to get messaging to work right. At one point, I was so exasperated with the whole thing, I considered throwing the phone in the toilet. Lol
Yes. This is a simpler phone for my husband. I don't even have a cell phone. I don't want one bc I try to keep things simple in my life.
Wonderful memories
My husband is a retired mechanical engineer who spent the last 30 years of his career designing and testing commercial nuclear fuel. To this day his cell phone baffles him. It isn't complex enough. Daddy told me my husband married me for walking around sense. I suspect it was the same with Carter.
Very interesting lens. Thanks for sharing 😁
I provide IT support for Guys with PHDs in Genetics Science and Biology. "Have you tried turning it off and then back on?" Boss : " why do you always ask that?" "It solves 80% of all the problems ,you guys call about "
Adorable
Nothing like a POTUS butt dial!
It was a wonderful speech. Heartfelt with a few insights into being a grandson of PawPaw. With a little humor.
It was a lovely eulogy.
Great memory about Jason Carter’s exemplary grandparents. Glad to know that the Carters washed and reused their Ziplock bags! I STILL do this to lower consumption and reduce plastic waste in the landfills.
Makes me laugh every w.
Jason Carter is an awesome speaker.
It was such a great speech. All of them were. And I never saw orange man laugh once. Dead inside he is.
Dead Inside. Apt description...
Humor requires intelligence.
Truth!
Noticed the same
Yep. Souless
I remember as a young girl, helping to move my grandma. I was packing the kitchen and was so confused to find a drawer with neatly folded paper towels that grandmas had rinsed and dried to use again. Man I miss them.
That is so sweet!!!
Especially the zip lock bags
❤️😊
Yeah. My husband washes and reuses ziplock bags. It drives me nuts but now I think I understand why.💕
Could have been my dad, too - funny story.
Donald can't have this much love while he is living, and after he is gone. What pitiful creature.
I loved this story!
Relatable on so many levels. I love this story.
His entire eulogy was just incredible. 💙
Everybody chuckling or openly laughing, except for...?...you guessed it!
Yup, there sat Trump......looking like he smelled a fart🙄🙄
He looks like that when it's not about HIM. 🤔
“I didn’t call you, I was taking a photo!” 😍
I'll think of Jimmy every time I hang my ziplock bag to dry.
And Trump doesn’t crack a smile.
What I noticed. Gosh, the man is truly a sociopath. If it’s not about him, singing his praises, he’s sour and curmudgeonly. Dick.
So sour looking and on a planet far, far away.
I can relate to President Carter.
Photos on the refrigerator...phone attached to the wall...Great speech Jason!!! Thank you..
💙💙🦋 love the stories Jason tells about this grandparents, the Carters. Such genuine loving people.
Carter is even MORE relatable now...thanks to Jason! What a sweet man.
Beautiful eulogy
This was by far the best eulogy of the day.
Look at the big orange manchild, sulking because he has to be there instead of actively embarassing the US on the world stage.....I'm actually surprised that his arms aren't crossed!
Aw, how utterly charming.
That story was so wholesome! 🥰
Anyone else notice how stone-faced A-hole is...Mel managed a tight smile I think
Depression era, my ass! I dry out and re-use as many Ziplock bags as I can, maybe to the shop. It even bugs me that my tenants use a new waste basket liner every time they take out their trash. I only change mine out a 5-6 times a year. Waste Management prefers your trash to NOT be bagged.
He was so cute and humble. 🕊️
Wonderful story of a very good man. He will be missed. On the other hand, I expect the news of Trump's death will be met with some combo of Mardis Gras, New Year's Eve, and St. Patty's Day. Much joyful drinking.
I agree and am more than looking forward to that, but on the flip side we'll then have President Vance and that's another level of horror
Vance may be smarter but he has ZERO what the t.v. business calls "Q" factor. He is utterly unwatchable. He won't get away with stuff like Cheeto would.
Honest questions though, does anyone else think that 1. Orange Clown actually believes his funeral will be as full of love as President Carter’s? and 2. How mad was he that people were saying such nice things about someone else and paying no attention to him? EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A FUNERAL.
Liquor stores and bars/pubs when that news breaks.... sheesh! Which ironically means "bottle"in Armenian (շիշ).
And dancing Munchkins.
I don't drink, but will be making an exception on that news and have purchased a bottle of brandy just for that occasion
Where ever Trump is buried , the cemetery had better build a public toilet over his grave The amount of piss and shit that people will deposit on Trump grave , will be dangerous to public health if pumping is not installed
He will be buried at Bedminster, so you will need a membership to desecrate his grave.
I sure record number of people will break into the club to express their "Respect " aka piss on his grave I sure that even members of the club that knew him will be the same
Instead of a vault liner, they should install a septic tank
AMEN!!
I still wash and dry ziplock bags.
So classy. Perfect.
Moments to cherish. 🥹
This is so sweet and funny…and Trump sat there scowling. Says everything there is to say about him.
It's EXACTLY what we expected the ahole to do.
Trump is self absorbed always. That was pathetic to watch him there.
One day, hopefully soon, he will be the star of a show just like this.
Scowling because Kamala ignored him
He never smiles unless it's about something cruel.
That is so true. He's empty inside and nothing fills it. Unfortunately, hate initially puffs out but then compresses and burns, but love is a slow seed that grows...it can't keep up with someone who demands instant gratification
They weren't talking about him, so he got bored.
My thoughts exactly, he can't be gracious, thoughtful or engaged unless it's about him.
He’s not gracious, thoughtful, or engaged even when it is about him. He’s smug, self-righteous, and arrogant even when it’s flattering.
That was a wonderful eulogy from start to finish. Heartfelt and apt.
I expect we’ll be seeing more of this guy. How charming and down to earth.
📌
Awe, such a great story. 🤣
Face time😄.
What a great story!!!
😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
What a great speaker Jason is. I enjoyed his whole eulogy.
My dad's aunt Ada, born in 1898, had a whole drawer full of bags she had washed and kept.
And everyone was smiling and/or laughing but the next idiot who will lead this country in 11 days
That little rack to hang zip-lock bags to dry has nothing to do with depression era roots... it's called "reusing" as in Reuse->Repurpose->Recycle. Jimmy Carter was a true conservationist... duh
Such a sweet story…love it! 🦋💖💙
Yes it was. 🤣
It was such a beautiful tribute.
I love 💕 this so much.
You mean only Jimmy and me hang their Zioloc bage to dry and reuse?
No you’re not alone. I wash and drip dry my ziplock bags too! Reuse!
Me too!
I do that not because I'm cheap, but because I hate to throw away something I can use again. Because we all live better on this glorious blue marble when we act as sustainably as is reasonable.
Hell, I also do it because I'm cheap.
Those bags don't grow on trees!
:) I would be less fussy if they went into the compost after being used. Should be I be putting sandwiches in my bio friendly dog poo bags? If I was more fundamentalist on the issue, maybe? For now, that's over the line. Cheers!
I don't know whether to feel embarrassed or seen.
He's just like me fr
No, you are among the reuse/reduce/recycle folks!
Jason was excellent.
And Trump just sat there with his grumpy bitch face.
Brilliant 👏 🕊♥️🕯
Thank you for sharing😂😂
Best Eulogy!!! So authentic. Love the wake up, do good, sleep, rinse and repeat and Jimmy was the first millennial 🤣😂🤣
🥰🥰🥰🥰
🥲😂
I love this story
I absolutely loved his eulogy.
It's not easy to hold a good speech while you inhale Baron Shitzinpants' odor
Look how fucking stupid the rapist and the whore are.
Not making a phone call but talking a picture 🤣🤣🤣 I can see the entire exchange.
This was such an endearing story. Just so real. So everyday American. 💙
He was a nuclear engineer -- NOT a telecom dude. It's DIFFERENT, okay? Entirely different skill-set!
I'm proud I voted for President Carter😇
10 years old when that election happen
I watched the service. Wonderful tribute to his grandfather. Blessings to the family.❤️
I reject presidential dynasties as too close to monarchies, but it surely wouldn't harm the nation to have Jason Carter in the top office.
He ran for governor in Ga and I voted for him but he lost. I wish he’d run again.
As everyone is smiling and enjoying hearing about such an absolutely amazing soul, orange moron sits there looking bored and disinterested. Likely because he can not relate to what it's like to be ..... human.
Mostly because it wasn’t about him.
❤️ it! That was a special memory he shared!
It all went downhill after Jimmy.
📌
💙💛❤️🙏🙏🙏
Of course, trump didn't get the joke.... sitting there like a dumbass
He got it, he's just tired of trying to act like he feels things as normal humans do.
Smiling and giggling would have been a good idea. He's been on this earth nearly 80 years and hasn't mastered the simulation of laughter? He's a boil on the ass of humanity
He’s as dumb as a bag of rocks 🙄
A waste of oxygen
He is the joke
but sadly, he’s about to be President Joke. Shame on the USA and sad for the whole world.
Indeed. I can only hope that most of the electorate realizes the mistake they made by the end and learns something. We need some serious education in this country!
Aw I love that ❤️
Everyone is laughing. Except for the 🍊💩🤡. Even his wh**e 'wife' is laughing. As much as her plastic face will allow anyways.
Mrs Plastic Allowance
Yes because her plastic is kind of tight. I mean she can barely smile.
I have a rack next to the sink where I dry ziploc bags. Just saying. 😏
I need a rack. I just turn them upside down.
Yep
Me too, and I ain’t no depression era
Jason Carter is great! We were just discussing how maybe he should host a TV show. He's definitely Got It.
Would spoil his grassroors charm.
