I also don't know why this season is getting such horrible reviews & ratings. Yes, it's a bit sillier than the other two seasons but Star Trek gets that way at times. I think they better do a few serious episodes so they don't lose their fan base or followers. However, I do love the silliness too. 🖖

When the shows used to be 26 episodes, the funny episodes would total to about 3 or 4 so you could have plenty of serious episodes out of that. When you only have 10 episodes, the jokey episodes can really stand out. Star Trek gets silliness right, but it has to make sense and less meta.

I wish The Orville would get renewed.

Yeah, I've heard that before. I heard it was tough just to get a third season.

The main issue I have, is that there are only 10 episodes so it leaves little time to veer off. Pike has really taken a backseat and there are way too many characters for this season to do justice. For example, "What is Starfleet?" focused on Beto when we could have been Ortegas episode.
