Our biggest adjustment from the Northeast to the South and the West has been the utter lack of White cultures in the latter places. It never struck us until we left the Northeast that most White non-Catholics and non-Jews in the US are literally vanilla. There's nothing there. -OS

The only exceptions might, and I say *might*, be the German Americans (esp in the Great Lakes)...but that can be indistinguishable from Polish American superficially so it might fall under the Catholic rule...
Chicago, Milwaukee, Detroit, Cleveland. These are all cities with White people who have a culture beyond what's found on the SPEED network. -OS

Same in the Midwest nearly. There's pockets, Milwaukee, Chicago, but very very little else.
The Northeast being the last place with ethnic white and WASP cultures that are separate from the monoculture is probably a huge part of why they vote the way they do.
