However, I emailed the parent and said "you could give it a go and see if you get a more lenient marker" Behold, the grade has changed!

BUT LOOK - we have some many inequities in our maths exams: kids who get the more expensive calculators get easier marks, kids whose parents can afford frivolous appeals will have grades changed

So a parent can appeal even if the school doesn’t think it’s worth it. Shame for people who can’t afford it.

My advice was "it may be worth an appeal to see if you get more leniency the second time round" Turns out I was right!
