It's kind of sad that we even have to do math here. Just feed kids. How hard is that?
I do think the math serves a purpose. If someone’s struggling to pay their own bills, it wouldn’t be weird for them to resent paying several thousand dollars so that parents who could afford it didn’t have to pay for their own kids meals, for example. Doing the math communicates the actual scale.
