Ah. It was a genuine question though. Not facetious. I think I must have missed the rhetorical nature of it. 🙂

Uh, mega rich need to borrow money to get richer. Lower credit ratings increase the interest rate that they have to pay. That's why Felon 47 is firing competent board chair members from The FED who WON'T lower interest rates. You already know this, right?

Perhaps, the mega rich have clever means of acquiring money. They suck up a lot of direct govt spending & things like treasury bonds which are a free payday for the rich. Especially with those interest rates. This is different than govt's position though. Those credit ratings are irrelevant to them.

You are mistaken. "The government" is not immune to high interest rates. The billionaire racists who bought the White House for Felon 47 are very concerned. Why do you think Trump is trumping up mortgage charges against the Black Fed board member who won't vote to lower the interest rate?

Because he's an ordinary neoliberal and they think interest rate jiggling is effective economc policy. As it happens the best policy would be 0% (ZIRP) because it would kill off the bond market. I'm sure Trump is just exercising his arrgant will because someone said 'no', not because he understands.

Neo liberal? What ever you say. So, you fell for the 40-year-old multibillion dollar public relations scam since Reagan that "liberal" is evil? Will you try some nonpartisan responsible journalism on current event for a few days? The PBS Newshour? BBC World News? The AP?

I never said that. 'Neoliberal' is political-economic word for the right-wing adoption of neoclassical economics (like Monetarism) which itself claimed to be based-upon classical 'liberal' ideals.

That said this has now been accepted as 'orthodoxy' and is why even the centre and left go on about 'finding money' and 'borrowing' and the rest. They failed to develop a rebuttal.

I'm just answering questions. People ask or question a post I've made, and I answer. There is no playing. If it stops that's okay too.
