I read Yellowface, which draws heavily on her public autobiography that @haharuffo.bsky.social mentioned & was entertaining in its heavy handedness imo, & Babel*, which was delightfully/absurdly nerdy & imperfect. I’m not always a good fiction critic but I’ll give it a chance.

* I listened to Babel as an audiobook, & miles would pass on the same etymological footnote, which felt disruptive and weird but also…I didn’t hate it lol

I read 90% of it on a trans-atlantic flight last fall & barely even slept (usually flying just knocks me out). I found it so uncomfortably compelling in a very layered way.
