Literally asked a rabi how he knew "God" exists and he replied "how do you know he doesn't?" I swear they are braindead and afraid. They need someone to tell them what to do, feel, think, and believe. Not a shred of free will. It's so idiotic.

It's only recently that Jewish seminaries have started recognizing that it might be worth a lot to teach something about pastoral care in addition to Torah, Mechilta, and Talmud. So some rabbis are the modern Sadducees, and I really do try to stay away from Sadducees.

Most of what you said made no sense to me because I don't know what pastoral care entails nor what sadducees are. But this convo with a rabi was about 20 years ago so not sure if what you said qualifies.

Pastoral care involves nourishing the spirit of those who come, not telling them what tradition or ritual or the text says. Sadducees were the opponents of the Pharisees in the Temple in Jesus' day. Everything the Sadducees believed have been mistakenly attributed to the Pharisees by

This is another reason why I stay away from religion. None of this shit makes sense or works and it's far too ridiculous for me to understand, like, or care about. 😵‍💫

Living the lives we want to live is important. I just hope that more people will want to make the world a better place for everyone and every living thing on the planet for having lived in it, and that seems a very unpopular attitude for all too many these days.

Yes, they are selfish, ignorant, and horribly indoctrinated to believe very stupid things. I hope there is some problem solving skills in their heads but I have yet to see it and I am losing hope. The human race is a fucking disaster.

The disasters get all the headlines, but there are lots of good people out there. The problem may well be that those with less are generally kinder than the wealthy. A friend told me yesterday that she had pulled into a rest area so her dog could pee, and there was

someone say that the hardest part of being poor is having nothing to give. Remembering that in these times of cruelty and stupidity much worse than a developmental disability is one of the things that make it easier for me to hold on to hope. May you find things that strengthen you.
