Oh, George. You’re usually so right about things. Millions of people should be taking to the streets in protest of Trump and Musk, and instead you’re busy trying to remove democrats.

Can't it be both? We should remove Republicans and democrats if they don't serve the will of the people. Schumer doesn't, so he should be removed as leader. I don't care whether he stays a politician or not, but he shouldn't be the leader the dems.

Let me ask you two serious questions: 1. Do you believe in the function and value of government? If so you shouldn’t want to shut it down - that hurts people. 2. Do you believe a short-term spending bill is the most important vote this Congress will have? I don’t. This isn’t the hill to die on.

1) yep, my wife works for the state and I only live today because of the gov. I still wanted it shut down because in 16mths no one will remember it. We won't let Chuck forget this. 2) short term is a month and what should have been passed. Not nine months of death by 1000 cuts.

I think the most important part is that they received nothing for this and that's negotiating 101. You don't give up everything for nothing. They know Chuck won't stop any more bills with the only tool they had either. So what did they get, who did they really help by doing this and what's next?

Who would they have helped by shutting government down and stopping Social Security and other checks to people who need them? You think the cuts and destruction would slow down when there’s no government in place? Hell no, they would accelerate the destruction. This is so short-sighted.You’ll see

Well, I suppose since Chuck shared your view of things we'll find out won't we? I just hope that it all doesn't end up in the same place. If it does, at least we could have fought to save democracy instead of just giving it to the fascists.

A temporary spending bill is not “giving it all up to the fascists.” Shutting the government down would not save democracy in any way shape or form. I cannot emphasize this enough. This vote is meaningless compared to the legislation they will be proposing soon and every democratic vote is needed.

Temporary is funny. The cr replaced a budget that was never passed last year. We're operating at what was passed in 2023. They're about to gut Medicaid but I guess it's fine. The point would have been to lay this at the feet of reps. and remind voters that they shut the gov down.

Congress has not made any votes on Medicaid or Social Security or gay rights or any other important issues yet. Shutting the government down would not have done a fucking thing to change that.

No, not yet but provisions within the CR allow them to reduce spending. When they cut 880 billion out of Medicare you'll see what I mean. They can also reduce all federal funding to states that allow gay marriage or sanctuary status. I'm just not putting anything past them at this point.

Don't forget that the only party that is damaged is the one in power. It's what happened each time McConnell shut it all down and no one seems to remember that. It's also just a larger issue with Schumer more so than anything. He's 100 and needs to go regardless.

The majority of voters are getting younger and younger. They don't know what happened back in the 90s or why we are where we are because of Regan in the 80s. I like arguing with you. 😁 You're not going to change my mind that it was a missed opportunity but I agree we will have more.

If the Democrats are going to actively assist Republicans, like Schumer, then they're no better and SHOULD be removed.

We need to remove democrats who are getting in the fucking way of what we are asking for (*demanding) when we're on the streets. How is that not clear? Schumer is not up for the fight. Removing him from the leadership position doesn't kick him out of the Senate, it puts a leader in the role who gaf

Closer and closer to Blue MAGA. You need to be focusing on removing REPUBLICANS. You’re just doing their dirty work for them. First Biden. Now Schumer then Jeffries. They’re salivating at having socialists take over the party because they know America will never elect a self-proclaimed socialist.
