Republicans have enough votes to pass through anyone they want. Democratic votes cannot change any outcome. People often vote for nominees because they serve a cross-section of constituents, some of whom like the nominees. I know we’d all like Democrats to vote in lockstep just like republicans.
The Dems should never vote for these ghouls that are in his cabinet now. Gabbard, hagsbreath, and Noem unqualified and cannot do the job

I don’t think they’re letting us down. I think they’re in an unprecedented bad situation of being a minority party facing a rabid, festering fascist movement, enabled by the entire Republican Party, that has sidelined Congress in favor of establishing a dictatorship. There’s no playbook for this.

It only delays the inevitable. It’s political theater. Like the filibuster, yeah it makes a point and makes people feel good, but ultimately, it’s the republicans who must be replaced. If Congress stalls or shuts down, Trump will just write more EOs and blame democrats for not doing their jobs.
