Define "entering the country illegally" because apparently most people don't know and think non-citizens means illegal or something. Most non citizens are here legally after entering with inspection and then are in some stage of the immigration process. That's how the process works as intended

2/…A little wildly-inaccurate back-of-an-envelope math here, let’s assume 15 minutes per case, 8-hr days, 40-hr weeks, no vacations, 60 Immigrations Courts, EVEN IF THEY STOP ACCEPTING CASES TODAY…it will take around 7-1/2 YEARS to clear just this backlog. The system is working as the GOP wants.
"Not working" as GOP intended, yep. tank the bipartisan immigration deal Congress made during Biden admin. GOP has been tanking immigration deals since before Bush Jr. New big budget put in big$ for new Maga ICE agent hiring, but if they wanted to process these IC cases, $ coulda went to there too🤔

I mean people who are in the United States that have neither gone through any part of the immigration process nor received any kind of protected status such as political asylum for example.
Not to bad. Just understand that's the minority. Just recently during Biden era, folks had all the "open border" media outrage and scare tactic of photos with people in long lines at immigration/border crossing. Those were people properly, not illegally, entering with inspections w/ct dates etc
