Starting to prototype combat, decided to make it turn based, was debating between menu-based or full on tactical movement. I figure combat serves the survival and inventory management, so decided to go with quicker menu-based. Happy new year! #picotron #indiedev #pixelart #gamedev

Chief, among many others! UI is dead giveaway lol. Reading Daniel Fedor's blog posts on Neo, I find the design thought process fascinating. The game itself is deliberately opaque about mechanics, so reading about the playtesting and revisions that went into that balance is quite illuminating.
