I’m looking into getting builders plates for Henry, if his crash occurs in winter 1935 does that mean his rebuild would be completed in 1936?

I'd probably say late 1936 almost 1937. It's not just a process of taking Henry's boiler off and dropping another on, there's also the draughtsman going over the ways to rebuild him, then planning his rebuild around what Crewe normally dealt with daily

Personally, i believe that, with the idea of them using around 50% to 60% of the original Henry, that they could’ve maybe realistically rebuilt Henry in maybe 4 to 5 months. It kinda depends on the workload Crewe had during those months when the story takes place.

I’d double that at minimum, purely because that was production of the Fives (Black or Red) was kicking off. Stanier had a favor to perform, but I think a one-off rebuild of a dubious class would’ve been knocked down the priority list quite a bit. Crewe would’ve had their hands full

Wasn’t the crash January? Which we see him return in the spring, so would most likely be 1935 still

Was it? I just assume because it says “one winter evening” and my mind defaults to December

I’m pretty sure it’s never outright said, but considering the IRL crash happens in January I makes sense
