My understanding is that Tasmania is pretty wet and cold. and there is the southeast corner of Australia itself thats mountainous and wet. But thats just heresay from my 10k miles away and never having actually set foot in the place.

Even in SE Australia you generally have to travel to get to the snow (which is more likely in the mountains). Unlike England, where snow was commonplace (at least when I lived there). Climate Change is already impacting us - with more severe heat waves, bushfires, droughts & flooding too
