As someone who ran medical calls for the FD, I merely disagreed with your analogy. Also, no, regular officers are not generally equipped (depending on the jurisdiction) for an active shooter. Helmets, shields, long rifles, etc. It’s one of the reasons they have SWAT teams.

Yeah, I don't think it's a good look for police officers to hang around outside while little kids are dying in a school because they don't have their military gear and are waiting for the SWAT team. But I suppose it's helpful to know there are lots of police officers we can't depend on.
