One of the reasons I was afraid to cut the cord 'til now was because of how easy streaming services make it to discover new music. Well, turns out the app I'm using to compile my MP3 library has a similar feature. Once I saw that, I decided I could comfortably cancel my sub.

I did a quick look, and Swinsian seems to be the go-to non-Apple app for Macs. Unfortunately, it's not free. swinsian.com

Ooh thanks! I’m also looking at Pine Player, which also has things like format conversion, which is tempting

*sigh* -Apple had a great music player in iTunes. Now it’s just big garbled advert for Apple Music.

One of the big reasons I moved from pc to mac wasn’t it wasn’t bogged down in the sort of bloatware every installation is plagued with then slowly but surely Apple just shoved its own shitty services on there.

MusicBee is truly a godsend. I've just started making the same transition last month!
