Some argued that 2-tiered pay scales would go away in the airline industry if people refused to work at those rates. Applicants for a career job based on seniority have no power to set wages and it’s unrealistic to expect no one to apply.
It was union and current employees job to negotiate and ratify wages and benefits. Applicants have no power to effect college policy change when applying to elite universities. Qualified students not applying to Columbia is highly unlikely. The U admin made their bed. Others can’t fix it for them.

I hope donations and applications reflect the poor, cowardly decisions the university administration has made. Giving in to bullies never works, but it can seem to be the easier choice at the time.
