A fact I know because my gal is a beekeeper: their alarm pheromones smell like banana and so they tend to sting anybody who, say, wears the wrong perfume.

Thankfully, they don't react to the scent of actual bananas. The alarm pheromone smells more like artificial banana flavor (like LaffyTaffy or Runts). They also dont "smell" things like we do. You can use lemongrass oil to attract them, though. But then you'd have bees on you.

This is a good correction, it's exactly like Laffy Taffy.
