I lived in Dallas for 12 years. There are a few glimmers of “good people doing the right thing” in TX, but SO much bigotry, racism, and lack of awareness. I recently had the option to move back, but no f-ing way. If the Republicans there push these gerrymanders through, we are lost as a Democracy.

They're only a red state because their existing maps are already gerrymandered. TX currently has a majority Hispanic population (40.2%) as opposed to non-Hispanic White (39.3%). Harris got more votes than Trump from this bloc in 2024 so if TX maps weren't cheating, it would probably be blue.
