Anyone else who uses DuckDuckGo noticed that just in the last couple of days it has become absolutely overrun with useless AI results? Not just a lot (as it was before), but exclusively AI crap, page after page of sludge. It's become utterly unusable. Weren't they supposed to be good guys?

I use it pretty much every day and just scroll past their little AI blurb. I notice AI was introduced into an app for a local grocer (Jewel-Osco) and I thought “why, exactly?”

I’m paying the $10 a month for Kati. as been so great to get substantive results without the ads ans SEO optimization. They have an AI summary, it gives you a concise top 10 links that lead to pretty good sources.

I noticed a couple of weeks ago. Then moved to Kagi bit after 100 searches you have to pay so...another upcoming search for a reliable search engine. 😡

I’ve used them but hadn’t noticed that yet. Will check it out. When I need to use Google these days I turn to udm14.com

It takes you to a different landing page than the present one. On the present one, “AI” choices are to the left, while “web” choices are buried in a drop-down menu further to the right. So this links directly to the web landing page, which is where everyone should be able to start.
