The most revealing thing about this is not that Trump is too dumb to understand the mistake he's making, but that he keeps saying it and no one around him has the guts to tell him he's making himself look like an idiot

They are humoring the senile old grandpa, staying in his good graces so he doesn’t bounce them before they have a chance to swoop in for power.
Or they tell him and the TV huckster in him realizes that it doesn't matter as long as people are buying it.
Maybe so. There's another possibility, too, namely that he keeps repeating it precisely because someone tried to correct him. I raised a son diagnosed with Oppositional Defiant Disorder. I've seen it and lived with it. And I see that behavior in Trump every day. When asked, told or warned
not to do something, that thing goes straight to the top of their priority list. Give them unsolicited advice and they do the opposite. I think this explains a lot of his stupid, seemingly inexplicable behavior.
I thought his first term was embarrassing. Smh
And, to my knowledge, there has been no concerted news media effort to say "you cannot lower prices on things beyond 100%, the president keeps on invoking impossible numbers to lie about his policies"
I’m begging some reporter to ask a follow up question. President Trump, if a drug costs $100 and discounting it 100% makes it free, does that mean the buyer would actually be getting $900 for buying the drug?
They may have. I think it's worse. That he knows it makes no fucking sense and is trolling. Everything he does is trolling because he subsists solely on hate.
Well, to be fair, he IS an idiot. It's not like he can make himself look like anything else.
That's because he always looks like an idiot
When he orders his flunkies to stand behind him, that's when he knows he's in trouble. He did the same thing after each day of his trial.
