Any reporter writing about Lisa Cook who uses a passive voice phrase like "after allegations emerged" and not something more accurate like "after a Trump crony went digging through the private mortgage information of officials Trump wanted to target looking for dirt" should quit their goddamn job

"Mortgage fraud" is also a loaded term that should be considered shilling for Trump. She may have two mortgages that listed the home as a primary residence. That may give her a teeny tiny reduction of interest payments which can be corrected and she can pay the penalty. There are a million reasons
why this may be a mistake in filling out the form. She didn't realize. She considers both "primary" residences. On and on. Criminal charge besides being insane (when was the last time you saw someone go to jail for listing a mortgage as a primary residence?) also requires intent. Trump would have
to prove that Cook intentionally lied on the form in order to get a lower interest rate. For Trump and his bigots, that's easy since that requires her to be, ahem, "low IQ". An Intelligent person such as Lisa Cook would not risk jail in order to get a slightly lower interest payment. Look at her
education. Physics degree, PHD. As usual a black women in order to get were she did has to be a million times smarter and work a million times harder than the incompetent MAGAs screaming about DEI.
Ah the passive voice. The favored verb tense of cowards and psychopaths.
“Allegations emerged” is not passive voice. It’s just intentionally and contemptibly vague.
Would also be nice if media pointed out ongoing pattern of Trump using agencies to dig through people's personal info and fish for excuses to harass his perceived enemies, plus trans people and immigrants. Pulte, Hegseth, Bondi, Patel, Rubio, RFK Jr all doing this.
