1) Why are you conflating "women" and "sexism" with "white women." 2) Do you really think it's hard to find historical examples of women living under systemic sexism? Women who died at their husbands' hands? Who bore 11 children because they were denied control of their bodies?

Because Sexism can happen to ANY woman. Why are you conflating Racism; when Black women who endure both ... with Sexism?? Your personal feelings don't equate to what history has noted. Oscarville, Rosewood, Tulsa wasn't attacked & destroyed due to Sexism it was Racism. Period.

I didn't claim Tulsa was attacked because of sexism. I said * Black women were denied the right to their bodies as women. Black women earn less than men - including Black men.

White women are raped more often than Black men. Does thay mean sexism matters more than racism? Of course not

Sexism isn't just a personal experience. Like racism, it is built into the law and culture. Naming it doesn't negate or take away from the experiences of Black men, and I'm not sure why you seem to think it does.

I don't know why you would egregiously try to attempt with all the history at your fingertips attempt to assume any amount of Sexism could trump the Transatlantic Slave Trade snd centuries of Harm.

I am not downplaying the transatlantic slave trade or racism. I am saying that sexism is harmful, pervasive, has affected centuries of women, and is legitimate to name and call out.

Women whose uteruses were removed w/out their consent? Women who were shunned for having sex out of wedlock? Women who were left in poverty because they had no way to earn a living wage? Women who were raped by husbands and had no legal recourse *until the 1980s?*

All of that happened to Black folks and systemically. Not one time did entire groups of women living in a town get killed and flooded over or destroyed in mass. Not. One. Time.

The number of women who were killed in history for being loose, who died in childbirth because they weren't allowed to say "No, I don't want children," who died at their husbands hands is not a small number. Deaths and harms don't have to be congregated in a single village or city to be systemic.

When that number hits 6 - 150 million let me know... aka Transatlantic Slave Trade

Under your logic, we don't have a problem with police brutality because Tamir Rice died in a different city than George Floyd.

I feel like you're pretending I said racism doesn't exist. Or that I said sexism is worse than racism. Or that slavery was about sexism. What I have said is that sexism is real and serious. And if you don't feel its real and serious, then I guess you don't gotta worry about.

Girl, all you've done is put words in my mouth. Anyway, if that's what you said, then yes, I still disagree. Racism is prevalent and harmful. It is not *more* relevant and harmful.

You mentioned Crenshaw earlier. So here's a passage from one of her articles. You'll notice she doesn't say "Race is important and sex is secondary." She says, both feminism and anti racism movements have often ignored how the intersection of the two can change our experiences in the world.

No, you ignored any example of how sexism has impacted women's lives as somehow irrelevant in the face of slavery. You haven't shown at all that women's lives are "less" affected by sexism. You just don't value the ways our lives are affected by it.

And the women who died at their husbands' hands? Or who were forced to give birth because they had no right to birth control? Or were raped and had no recourse because a man could not legally rape his wife? My point is that people experiences harm in many ways, not just towns being burned down.

Race is a relatively recent concept that grew out of the Transatlantic slave trade, so I'm not certain how that could possibly be true. Humans are 200k years old, and women have been property in any number of societies going back to our earliest recorded history.

That aside, it's not a competition. Racism fucks up lives. Sexism fucks up lives. Combined, they fuck up lives even more. I can name a long laundry lost of how racism fucks up lives, including my own. But you seem to think sexism has no legitimacy as a concept.
