I see schools every week where parents come over a hour early to wait. And I know a school where a child was killed in the pickup line this spring by a parent's car.

That is awful! I live across the street from an elementary school (that my kids attended). There's a lot of bad behavior -- fast and distracted driving, people not using crosswalk with dedicated crossing guard -- and it's truly just a matter of time before we experience that on my block, I fear.
