I haven't had TikTok for a couple months, but holy shit it was nuts. Doxxing, lawsuits, restraining orders - you name it. The grift, racism, and antisemitism was exposed, and it was a damn trash fire.

There was algorithm suppression before any political talk of banning the app. There were groups of creators who got together to plan days with specific hashtags & plead for engagement of any kind to get it trending just so they could get eyes on their content. Rage farming added to the mess.

The rage farming was sooooo bad. The couple days after 10/7, my algo kept trying to throw me on that side, and I knew we were in for some shit. I hope those shitbags have the day they didn't vote for. Shameful as hell.

It started small with people baking gross or confusing things, but others learned from them. They tapped into the anger & hate to get engagement. People fell for it & it became a way to spread propaganda. The creators posting educational content to counteract the hate (coded or not) were already>

My comments were getting nuked left and right for calling out racism and antisemitism, but they were straight up just using slurs. My algo started driving up my anxiety, so when I got my new phone last month, I noped out.

That app pushed for whiteness, especially thin, white beauty standards. The racism & antisemitism were already there before the election, before 10/3/23. All that other shit is not surprising when one knows what the app was like already.
