It's also a great example of actually talking about things affecting the bottom half. He hammered cost of living, transit, childcare, groceries. The economy is not "great, actually"; not for the bottom half of America. Progressive shit just works.

Fun fact: Eveerything left of hunting brown people for sport is /not/ actually "the left". Conservative is a wide spectrum, of which current Republicans are at the extreme end. Similarly, a lot of what Republicans and republican media call radical left is actually their own policy from 20 years ago

As to Harris, herself? The former prosecutor/top cop? She set her image up as "tough on crime". This kind of pandering is more common to conservatives. She supported using gov. force to deal with drug problems rather than other approaches. That's quite a conservative thing to do, overall.

She also took part in the big lie about sites like backpage, and helped to destroy it. It was part of bullshit conservative moralism, where the appearance is all that matters. Indeed, backpage wasn't helping human trafficking; it was helping feds catch it. That's a very conservative thing to do.
